Bummer!

Yesterday the fam got up extra early and hit the road at 6:00 AM! We headed to Cedar to watch the hot air balloons launch @ 7. When we got there they hadn't even unloaded any of them and a few minutes later the head guy said they were going to call it because of the forecast. BUMMER! Even thought there wasn't a stitch of wind on the ground they did show us using helium balloons that the wind did change higher. Taryne on the other hand was thrilled enough with the balloons we DID get to see though. :) So instead we went to McDonald's and ate breakfast and let the kids play. All was well and we will try again next year. :)

Labor Day

This year we didn't have any plans for the Labor Day weekend. But on Monday Curt and I both had the day off and of course the kids had no school. So since Curt was on call we spent the day getting things done around the house and then just relaxing and watched a movie. We decided that for dinner we would make tinfoil dinners and ride up to the reservoir and cook and eat them and the roast marshmallows and make smores!! My parents, Wade, Jenn, and her friend Dave all came with us too! Jenn and Dave walked with the kids to the lake to throw rocks in the water. They were amazed by Dave's rock skipping abilities. (Thanks Dave! They thought I knew an awesome trick until you came and blew me out of the water! :) Anyways, we ended up having a lot of fun!! Nice when those last minute ideas come together like that! :)

Pioneer Day cont.

I took Sammy and Taryne to the races. I was excited that Taryne actually ran this time! On the 4th she would budge.

Here is Sammy racing with cousins on each side.

And coming to the finish!!

And I just get a kick out this pic of Taryne with her race treat! :)

After the races every year the local firefighters do a coin pond! Sammy always looks forward to it. Curtis feels like he misses because he always ends up working that day and doesn't get to hose the kids down. :)

Huh?! :)

What's that you say??! It's about time?? I know, I know!! :) Where have we been?? Well busy, that's where........okay and a little slacking going on too I guess. Once Curt and I started our EMT classes life was so hectic we could hardly keep up! But it was so worth it! I passed my Basics test about a month ago and then Curtis passed his yesterday!! It was a lot of work but it has been a ton of fun also!! :) So here I am, FINALLY updating our blog!! I will be trying to do quite a bit of catch up so stay tuned!

Pioneer Day!!

I always look forward to Pioneer Day here! The day started with Curt and I walking the "Fun Walk". Next was the parade. The kids always end up with so much candy and I love to cheer the floats on! We sit at the beginning where the parade starts so we can watch the parade and chase candy and then at the end the kids can hop on the fire truck with their dad!! It works out perfect! This year I hopped on one of the ambulances at the end too and threw half the candy the kids had picked up. No worries. Believe me, we STILL have candy gaulor!! :)

This year was EXTRA special! Grandpa Jones was Grand Marshall in the parade! He was pretty excited especially since so much family came to cheer him on!!
