Gonna give it a try…..

So as most of you know, each year since Grandma passed we have helped my parents with a garden over at Grandpa’s.  This year we are gonna give it a try at our houses (gulp! I really think her soil was magic!).  However we are pretty excited to see if we can get anything to grow here!  So we have, with some great help, cleared, tilled, fertilized, and made our rows.  Nothing big but it will be just right. I mean Gosh! It’s only like an 1/8 of the garden Grandma would plant but that will  never cease to amaze me!  She was amazing for sure! Smile

Bring on the Outdoors

DSCN0726DSCN0730DSCN0724DSCN0732DSCN0733DSCN0734

For FHE a couple weeks ago we gathered some friends and went up to the reservoir and roasted hotdogs.  We LOVE to do this! We always have so much fun!  And the rain even waited on this day until after we ate! Smile Can’t wait to get some more outdoor time in in the next couple months!

Hill-hairy-ASS Fun!!

Donkey Basketball 2011

Curtis was asked to play Donkey Basketball for a high school event.  He was part of the community business team so he was representing Brackens.  They did a pretty good job!! They took 2nd place! It was so much fun to watch!  I think everyone had a great time, even Austin, who we now know is allergic.

Dance Express Review

Last month was Sammy’s dance review.  Did

such a great job! We are so proud of her!

This was her first year taking dance

lessons, (and I have tried to get her to take

them many times Smile)  but she has taken it

in full stride and loved every minute of it!

So here I go……

Yes! I am THAT far behind on my blog!!  I won’t make excuses BUT live is busy BUSY!! Smile  And also I am one of those people that gets behind, then overwhelm, then behind again, then….OH CRAP!! Is this how hoarders get started too?!!!  Shoot!  Well maybe that explains the not so clean house too! Open-mouthed smile

Well I am gonna bite the bullet this time!…..maybe starting tomorrow….

Relay for LifeRight now I am working on putting things together for the Relay of Life to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. We have put together a team this year in honor of Jeff who was a great example to everyone. I have been so humbled by his family’s experiences and the generosity of people to them and also in support of this event!  My team ROCKS!! We have almost made our goal! Smile

Right now I am also taking the wild land firefighter course.  Not too bad.  It’s only a 2 week course.

My sis left to go back on her mission Wednesday!  I will miss her but I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see her feeling herself again!  She is also a great example!

10 Years!!

(picture of us one year ago)

Today is Curtis' and my 10 year anniversary!! It's amazing to think it has been that long! I guess it's good that it seems to have flown by so fast because it is only the good things that do. :) So here we are 10 years and 3 kids later and life is good! I love him more now than the day I married him and we are the BEST of friends!
We are celebrating by going on our first cruise in March!!! SO EXCITED!! :)

October Overview

It's been awhile since my last post, so I decided to cram all of October into one post. :)
It's been a busy month for our family. Curtis and I are now going to class twice a week for our EMT Intermediate. Nothing like sticking each other with needles! Lol! We do love being part of the department and are trying our bests to learn all that we can.
This month Sammy and Austin finished their soccer season! We were so lucky to have NICE weather for the WHOLE season! :) They did a great job and love playing!

On the 18th Trav and Heather had their little boy, Grayson! We are so excited for the new addition to the family! He is such a CUTIE! :) Congrats Heather and Trav!

A few weeks ago our friends that have great access to a pumpkin patch invited us to go out with them so we could pick out our own pumpkins! It's so much fun! The kids would seriously take them ALL home with us if they could! It's so funny how they seem to always go for the biggest one they can carry. :) Fun times! Thanks Heidi!

My friend Rachelle LOVES Halloween. So she has started having a party every year. (And hopefully every year to come! ;) ) Before she started having her parties, Curt and I never dressed up, but now we have been sucked into the Halloween fun! :) The party was a blast! Here are just a few of the pics from the party and the photo scavenger hunt.
Thanks Rachelle! So much fun!

Friday the kids get out of school early so we decided decided to carve out pumpkins that day before going to the PTA carnival. We have really learned to like doing this as a family-Oooy Gooy mess and all! Even Taryne dug right in and did her own! She even cut out a lot of the face herself! (With supervision of course!) :) Then off to the carnival for a fun night of games and food! Austin even won the door prize! A big bucket of Halloween goodies! :)
(yes, I did notice I spelt pumpkins wrong!...will fix later....maybe....)

Then on Saturday Trav and Heather came up so we played with baby Grayson and then went home and got dressed up for Trick-or-Treating! Followed by friends and fun! :)
