Curtis is 30!!!!

First of all just have to say Happy Birthday to my AWESOME HUSBAND!!  I think we had a lot of fun for his Birthday and the world didn’t even end!

On his Birthday we met up with some friends and headed out on four-wheelers!  We took the back way thru Pinto up to Pine Valley and did some geo-caching and exploring on the way! Even some hiking to get to some of the caches!  We had a BLAST!  Couldn’t have asked for a better time!  We can be a little crazy when we get together but we ALWAYS have fun!

Here are the people that went with us.

We found a cave that was once going to be a tunnel. (Jared gave a  history lesson).   We all walked down to it and of course the guys all went in…..Us girls? Yeah, we think not!

Then on one of the other stops we hiked way above the Pine Valley cemetery! Yeah, Jared “made” us!   But it was a great workout that was rewarded by a great view!

Curt had never been geo-caching but it was so much fun that he wants to go back out next chance and go again.

When we got to Pine Valley we went to Brenden and Rachelle’s cabin and ate pizza and junk to our hearts content while we played games.  Oh man this group can be hilarious!!

When it got later and we all headed home, Curtis and I came home and changed and went over to the Preston’s for some hot tub time!

What a great day!! Thanks to everyone!  Thanks to my parents for watching the kiddos too!

Happy Birthday Babe!

I made it!

So the track team up here put on a 5k for a fundraiser.  CONQUER THE E-HILL!!  So why not?!  Sounds like fun right?!  Ok…well it did to me and well actually it was, even though it was probably THE most challenging physical test I have put myself through! (Not counting the 3 times I had kids of course!)  There are 2 hills that are almost STRAIGHT UP!! It was CRAZY! And hey, I even got a 3rd place ribbon!! The pictures above are the hill we climbed and then a view from the top. (Hey, I had to stop up there and take a pic while I was there-who know if I will make it up next time!)

Gonna give it a try…..

So as most of you know, each year since Grandma passed we have helped my parents with a garden over at Grandpa’s.  This year we are gonna give it a try at our houses (gulp! I really think her soil was magic!).  However we are pretty excited to see if we can get anything to grow here!  So we have, with some great help, cleared, tilled, fertilized, and made our rows.  Nothing big but it will be just right. I mean Gosh! It’s only like an 1/8 of the garden Grandma would plant but that will  never cease to amaze me!  She was amazing for sure!

Next up……irrigating.

Bring on the Outdoors

For FHE a couple weeks ago we gathered some friends and went up to the reservoir and roasted hotdogs.  We LOVE to do this! We always have so much fun!  And the rain even waited on this day until after we ate! Can’t wait to get some more outdoor time in in the next couple months!

Hill-hairy-ASS Fun!!

Curtis was asked to play Donkey Basketball for a high school event.  He was part of the community business team so he was representing Brackens.  They did a pretty good job!! They took 2nd place! It was so much fun to watch!  I think everyone had a great time, even Austin, who we now know is allergic.

Dance Express Review

So here I go……

Yes! I am THAT far behind on my blog!!  I won’t make excuses BUT live is busy BUSY!!   And also I am one of those people that gets behind, then overwhelm, then behind again, then….OH CRAP!! Is this how hoarders get started too?!!!  Shoot!  Well maybe that explains the not so clean house too!

Well I am gonna bite the bullet this time!…..maybe starting tomorrow….

Right now I am working on putting things together for the Relay of Life to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. We have put together a team this year in honor of Jeff who was a great example to everyone. I have been so humbled by his family’s experiences and the generosity of people to them and also in support of this event!  My team ROCKS!! We have almost made our goal!

Right now I am also taking the wild land firefighter course.  Not too bad.  It’s only a 2 week course.

My sis left to go back on her mission Wednesday!  I will miss her but I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see her feeling herself again!  She is also a great example!
