Fire Fighter/ EMT Christmas Party

Doing a little more catch up. The Firefighter/EMT Christmas Party was Dec 13. (yep a month ago) Anyways we had good food and a good time. It snowed like crazy that night so of course just as we sat down everyones pagers went off and the on call EMT had to respond to an accident. One of which was the girl I made the ambulance cake for. Not to worry we cut into it anyways and almost ate half of it. (sure hope she likes)
We were so excited that Santa came to visit-well, except for Taryne again that is. :)

The funny thing with Taryne is that she wanted nothing to do with Santa but later on when Curtis was holding her and talking to one of the other guys there she just reached out for him and she didn't even know who he was. Kids are so funny!

Here's the cake that I made. Tried to make it look as much like our ambulance as possible.
We really appreciate all those who volunteer in our little community!

Christmas Bell Are Ringing

On the last day of school before Christmas break the kids had an assembly and Austin's kindergarten class performed a few songs with their bells and and then sang a few. They did a GREAT JOB!
His face was like this for most of the bells-cracked me up! He must have been concentrating.

Toys for Tots

Last month Curtis put together a co-ed team for the Toys for Tots softball tournament. That Friday night was FREEZING! And that night they even drug me onto the team-their bad! :) No, it would have been pretty fun(for me anyways) if I wouldn't have been completely FROZEN! Thanks everyone for not laughing at me and thank you Sara for watching Taryne.
These pictures are from Saturday when the weather was SO much nicer.

Just having one of those days....

I opened this e-mail that I got from my dad today, and it was RIGHT when I TOTALLY needed it! Thanks Dad! :)

To those of us who have children in our lives, whether they are our own, grandchildren, nieces, nephews,or students...here is something to make you chuckle.Whenever your children are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to His own children. After creating heaven and earth,God created Adam and Eve.And the first thing he said was"DON'T! "

"Don't what? " Adam replied.

"Don't eat the forbidden fruit." God said.

"Forbidden fruit?
We have forbidden fruit? Hey Eve..we have forbidden fruit! "

"No Way! " "Yes way! "

"Do NOT eat the fruit! " said God.

"Why ? "

"Because I am your Father and I said so! " God replied, wondering why He hadn't stopped creation after making the elephants. A few minutes later,God saw His children having an apple break and He was ticked! "Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit? " God asked.

"Uh huh," Adam replied.

"Then why did you? " said the Father."I don't know," said Eve.

"She started it! " Adam said.

"Did not! "

"Did too! "

"DID NOT! "

Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed.

BUT THERE IS REASSURANCE IN THE STORY! If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and they haven't taken it, don't be hard on yourself. If God had trouble raising children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you?

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT ! 1. You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.

2. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children.

3. Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young.

4. Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.

5. The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own.6. We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

ADVICE FOR THE DAY: Be nice to your kids. They will choose your nursing home one day.

AND FIN ALLY:

IF YOU ! HAVE A LOT OF TENSION AND YOU GET A HEADACHE, DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE:

"TAKE TWO ASPIRIN" AND "KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN"!!!!!

Ward Christmas Party

Our ward Christmas party was Dec. 12. The kids were way excited about being in the program. Sammy got to hold the STAR and Austin was a SHEPARD. They did a good job and we had fun!
I didn't get a whole lot of pictures. I really struggle with poor lighting.

After dinner and the program we of course had a special visitor. The kids were so EXCITED except for as you can see was NOT! I actually thought that she would do okay but I was wrong.

But afterwards she was pretty proud of her goody bag. :) Right when we got home she got that bag open and popcorn EVERYWHERE!
